Data Analysis

Data Analysis Overview

A strong numerical modeling effort is as much an integral component of SECCHI as any one instrument. Given the complex spatial and temporal structure of the Sun and heliosphere, we must use modeling to extract from the data an accurate three-dimensional picture of the corona, Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), and the heliosphere.

IMAGES BY APID

Following table contains yearly and monthly breakdown of SECCHI images by APID. Each hyperlink reports number of actual images sent down via SSR1, SSR2, and SWx per detector for both spacecrafts. Since these statistics are generated using current data in SECCHI MySQL database tables, all images are available for query and download.

TELEMETRY STATISTICS

The telemetry statistics plots are generated using the science raw telemetry image volumes. These plots are percentages of EUVI, COR1, COR2, HI1, and HI2 telemetry bytes for all downlinked (SSR1, SW, RT) data as a percentage of total telemetery bytes on a monthly basis. SECCHI-A and SECCHI-B TM statistics are displayed side-by-side.

SECCHI Overview

Overview

SECCHI is a suite of 5 scientific telescopes that will observe the solar corona and inner heliosphere from the surface of the Sun to the orbit of Earth. These unique observations will be made in stereo for NASA's Solar Terrestial Relations Observatory STEREO. The suite has three main parts.
