Schedule Predicts
Beginning in May 2010 there was a lot of contention with other missions for STEREO-Behind. Here is a plot of actual and predicted daily scheduled volume as of 6/7/10:
360kbps -> 240kbps
Behind changed to 240kbps on 2009/12/07. Ahead changes in April 2010. Here is a PDF file which has two tables: summary of SECCHI playback at various rates through 96kbps, and affect on SSR-2 pb if SSR-1 pb decreased; and summary of telemetry reduction options discussed on 2009/11/23.
480kbps -> 360kbps
Beginning on 2009/08/17, the SECCHI program on both spacecraft started using new schedules optimized for the 360kbps downlink mission phase. The primary difference between the 480kbps schedule is that the EUVI program is now dominant in 195A instead of 171A. Below is a summary of Differences between the new 360kbps/22hr schedule and old 480kbps/22hr schedule. Also noted are the differences between the 22hr, 30hr, and 36hr blocks. These are for SSR 1 images only.
HI
- No change; same in 30hr, 36hr blocks
COR 2
- 360kbps (schedule times)
Polarized sequence 1 per hour (00:08:15 01:08:15) Doubles 3 per hour (00:24:00 00:39:00 00:54:00) Event Detect 2 per hour (00:24-00:08, 00:54-00:39)
- 480kbps (schedule times)
Polarized sequence 2 per hour (00:22:00 00:52:00) Doubles 2 per hour (00:07:30 00:37:30)
- Same in 30hr,36hr blocks
COR 1
- No change; Same in 30hr.
- In 36hr: cadence decreases from 5 to 10 min.
EUVI
- EUVI 195A: 2.5 minute cadence from a 10 minute cadence
- EUVI 171A: 120 minute cadence from a 2.5 minute cadence
- EUVI 304A: No change
- EUVI 284A: 120 minute cadence from a 20 minute cadence
- In 30hr&36hr: decrease 195A cadence from 2.5 to 5 min.
